Teaching Philosophy
Hunter's approach is based on one simple belief: Classical Ballet is at the heart or is the basis for all Western Theatrical dance and anyone can learn classical technique if properly trained. Therefore, Hunter focuses on the individual--his or her strengths and weaknesses are examined and training proceeds in a careful, attentive manner. Rigorous classes are small and attention to clean, unaffected Classical Ballet technique is at the heart of each class.
Dancers at esb are schooled in the essential belief that technique and discipline lead to creative freedom. Body placement, balletic line, musicality, stretch are all taught systematically, allowing dancers to perform with confidence and expressivity. At esb, Ballet training leads to creative interpretation or to original choreography.
